(Recollections and Experiences of an Abolitionist, from 1855 to 1865, by Alexander Milton Ross.) William L. Garrison comments on John Brown's abolitionist beliefs

Also includes a letter by Frederic Bancroft to Wendell Phillips Garrison, dated May 13, 1899, Washington, D.C. Frederic Bancroft explains that the original letter by William Lloyd Garrison is in the possession of his brother, a Chicago lawyer. Frederic Bancroft asks: "Will you kindly tell me if this letter has ever been printed? If so, where? If not, I want to print a part of it in my 'Life of Seward,' now slowly printing by Harpers."
